I’m not sure why Disney would produce a spot for home theater installation other than to poke fun at the complexity and hype surrounding the home entertainment experience. This is a funny short put together in the vein of old skin Disney cartoons from the 40’s. As digital is at the heart of all great toys…don’t forget the universal remote.

Joost announced that it’s browser based service is now available. Joost was considered cutting edge in 2006 when it announced its Beta program and built its list of content. The major downfall at that time was the need to download and install a desktop application to access the content. What do you think? Too little too late for Joost or can they catch up with the browser version?

I’m not trying to pick on McCain (see this previous post about the HD impact on the candidate), but the New Media landscape doesn’t seem to favor him. When I saw McCain’s speech live, I was instinctively struck by the green backdrop. I thought of Stephen Colbert’s “Green Screen Challenge” from last year. In that little landmark of digital media integration, Stephen…

John McCain survived the Hanoi Hilton, but will HDTV doom his presidential campaign? Apparently the 70-something McCain’s “experienced” appearance on the hi-def screen has added a fresh, uh, wrinkle to the general election discussion.
You Tube has already had a major impact on the political picture. It’s been both been both good and bad for Barack Obama. And it killed at least one contender’s ambitions. My guess is that now the Chuck Todds and Candy Crowleys of the world will also be geeking out over polling data on the potential impact of the “HD voter.”
