Wake Up Corporate America
I’ve worked for a few “major” companies in my career but it still amazes me that so many “major” companies have not bought into the importance of interactive marketing. While the small competitors continue to utilize these mediums, Fortune 1000 management teams are too business with their internal power struggles to realistically evaluate critical opportunities to increase market share, increase revenue, and to reduce their overall acquisition cost.
For example, I worked for a Fortune 100 company as an Account Manager. At the time, this company had over 40,000 employees around the world. Unfortunately, the staff of interactive marketers did not have more than 5 people responsible for SEO, web analytics, web design, email communication, blogs, Pay-per-click, etc. Needless to say, we missed out on opportunities to maximize our online presence. When are the corporate “Big Wigs” going to move pass the old ways of doing business and keep up with the real world?
